What's the difference between mystery and regular?
❀ Mystery customs are exactly that -- a mystery, with limited selection or input from you in exchange for a lowered price. These will be within the realm of a specific idea my imagination wishes to chase, e.g. seasonal plant catalogues, love letters, or choose three. These will open at random, most frequently announced between my website and Instagram, with limited availability for each.
✿ Regular customs allow you choice regarding everything from wood sizing and shape, subject, and composition whether it be original illustration, or visiting a prior Overgrown concept, e.g. love letters, apothecary labels, etc. -- with sketches sent for approval and details discussed during prior to, and during the process. No change requests are permitted after the burn has begun.
The application for regular customs will remain open throughout the year, but please ensure you indicate upon the form if your request is time-bound.
✿ How much does a regular custom order cost? What is available?
Pricing begins at 300CAD for a 5x7" smooth-edge basswood oval plaque.
Options are based around wood availability and include smooth and live-edge plaques and slabs. Currently, all custom pieces are created upon basswood. All live-edge pieces will have irregularities regarding size and bark.
How long do custom pieces take to complete?
To finalise your order, the total amount will be paid -- in full if below 500CAD, or at 50% if above. Custom orders, including the deposit, are non-refundable even if cancelled. You will receive an email within 1-2 business days confirming your placement.
Your custom piece will be created within 4-8 weeks, not including shipping time. Please remain attentive to your contact method during this process to ensure all details can be finalised as smoothly as possible.
What kind of work can I order?
I specialise in botanical, forager, and natural-focused illustrative design, in the realm of mushrooms, plants, florals, skull and bones.
My pieces often also call attention to "trinkets" such as bottles, skeleton keys, crystals, spoons, jars, etc. Banners, signs, and labels are common features, leading to book and catalogue covers and pages, apothecary-style creations, sketchbook pages, and collective compositions -- with an honourable mention to our favourite little ghosties.
Each lovingly detailed burn treasures a story -- be it mine or yours --, to invoke emotion and delight the soul, following themes of life & death, growth, magic, and love.
I do not offer portraits, pet portraits, or pop-culture replications, and I do not replicate work from other artists.
Can you replicate a previously created piece?
No. All pieces are one-off, designed freehand. Concepts, however, can be revisited, e.g. "a love letter to poached pears", etc.
